Tax Equalization
This office oversees the local assessment process to provide the true and full value of properties in Dickey County. It is the duty & responsibility of the Tax Equalization Office to assess all taxable property uniformly, in a manner that is fair and equitable.
Property taxes are determined by the budgets set, in any given year, by city & county elected officials. We abide by the North Dakota Century Code & follow the guidance provided by the North Dakota Tax Commissioner’s Office.
Additionally, this office is tasked with maintaining taxpayer information and parcel changes, compiling & updating records regarding real estate transactions, new construction and developments. We provide property records, sales reports, and any other information requested which falls within North Dakota’s open records laws. It is also the privilege of this department to assist our citizens in applying for a variety of property tax exemption and credit programs. If you lack access to a computer or internet connection – these are ready & available to you inside our office.
Tax statement information can be obtained through the County Treasurer’s office & your City Hall can provide special assessment details.
