Mom and Baby Home Visits

Home visits from a nurse are available to residents of Dickey County through the Maternal Child Health Program.  These services are available at no charge to the client; however, Medicaid will be billed when applicable.

Nursing services may include:

  • health education and support during pregnancy and postpartum periods.
  • referrals to community resources.
  • assessment and monitoring of newborn and child growth and development.
  • parenting education regarding growth and development, childhood safety and immunizations.
  • Breast Pump Rental.

These visits can be as frequent as weekly or as infrequent as every two to three months.

Who is this program for?

Women in Dickey County who are in need of support and education during the pregnancy and postpartum periods. It is also available to families who request assessment, education and support regarding their child’s growth and development.
